TV host subject of Trump's lewd language condemns the 'sad' comments

Earlier today (Oct. 10, 2016), Bush's hosting job at the Today show was suspended indefinitely, and now reports are surfacing of how he is managing the crisis.

In the video, Mr Trump was on a bus talking to Mr Bush - then host of NBC's Access Hollywood - ahead of a segment they were about to record.

"I feel it's very important that I address you all directly", O'Dell said on ET.

"Today" Executive Producer Noah Oppenheim said in a memo Sunday that "there is simply no excuse for Billy's language and behavior on that tape".

After telling reporters Saturday that Bush would appear on the show Monday to apologize, the network changed its mind.

Back in 2005, when Bush's conversation with Trump took place, Bush was a co-host of "Access Hollywood", the entertainment newsmagazine owned by NBC.

The video triggered an outcry against Mr Trump as well as Mr Bush whose Facebook page was flooded with hundreds of angry comments, many from women. "You are sickening!" one woman wrote. Defections among viewers upset by 2012's messy dumping of Ann Curry from Today helped give GMA an edge.

Bush has only been at "Today" for two months, where he's had a rocky start.

"Today" 9 a.m.co-host Al Roker, who was scheduled to be off for the week due to a medical issue, is now coming in for Monday's program to join co-host Tamron Hall. It was released by the Washington Post and featured Bush laughing along while Trump, 59 at the time, bragged about trying and failing to make a pass at a married woman.

In a statement released by NBC News, Bush apologized Friday for his part in the encounter.

Top Republicans have condemned Mr Trump for the comments. After being introduced to Zucker, Bush asked her to hug Trump just moments after he called her "hot as s-" before she arrived.

Guthrie also noted that Bush was suspended and added the disclaimer that "Access Hollywood" is produced by NBC News's parent company.

"I moved on her actually, she was down in Palm Beach and I failed, I'll admit it", Trump says in the beginning of the video. I better use some Tic Tacs [breath fresheners] just in case I start kissing her. Trump discusses kissing and groping women who he's just met, which he can do because he's "a star".
